As Biteline’s first true hire, Mary has been a fundamental part of our launch here in Charlotte. Read our latest Q&A to learn more about the face behind Biteline’s operations and her thoughts on our 300 user goal.
What led you to Biteline?
I grew up with a family of orthodontists, so I’ve always been familiar with the dental industry. I interned with Biteline during my senior year of college and was eventually offered a full time job. I’ve always loved taking risks, so I accepted the offer and moved from Pennsylvania to Charlotte in July.
What was your initial reaction when you heard about Biteline?
Honestly, I wondered if this was really a problem and if it was, why there wasn’t a viable solution already. After doing my own research, I found out very quickly how large this problem actually was, and that there was a huge need for a service like Biteline in the dental community.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Interacting with users and helping them find the staff or jobs they want/need. There is no better feeling than being able to tell an office that desperately needs a temp that we were able to fill it.
Why is 300 users so important?
Biteline is a peer-to-peer platform, which means it can only be as great as the users that are on it. As more users continue to join our community, offices will be able to find workers to fill their temp or permanent positions faster and more efficiently.
Why did you choose to do this push for users right now?
As the app grows, so does our users’ ability to find candidates. Just think – if there was only one Uber driver, you might never be able to actually book the car because they would be so busy. If we only have one dental professional that temps on Mondays, they might always be booked. Now that our app has officially been up and running for one month, it is the perfect time to make this push.
After 300 users, what are the next goals for Biteline?
To keep growing! Biteline gets better and more functional with every user that becomes a part of our community.
