What started out as a chair-side conversation with a dental hygienist one day in summer 2016 after an annual cleaning is now a startup and application that’s ready to go live.
On June 15, Biteline, the hiring platform for dental professionals will launch to the public, allowing hygienists, assistants, and dentists to create profiles in less than one minute that then connect them with either open jobs or well-vetted dental professionals to fill them.
Biteline’s Founders Will Naso and Barclay McFadden know that this can be a solution to a big problem. The dental job market loses $1.0-$1.3 billion in addressable revenue annually due to antiquated staffing solutions. Offices spend $1.6 billion on internal and external staffing expenses annually.
How that happens isn’t any more complicated than dental offices struggling to find replacements when an employee needs to miss a shift. The existing system for finding a replacement is fractured across platforms like Facebook or texting and calling other industry professionals — which doesn’t allow for real-time hiring, lacks quality control, and is expensive both in time and money.
“The dental industry is going through a period of rapid growth because the experience is moving from more ‘mom and pop’ to larger, multi-office, multi-dentist practices, so there is a desperate need for modernization in the way the industry staffs,” says Naso, CEO and Founder. “Biteline is the answer.”

With Biteline, any dental professional can create a profile and instantly become a member of the growing community, all for free. Professionals seeking employment can quickly upload credentials and find temporary or permanent jobs in their area. Meanwhile, offices have access to a network of potential employees with reviews and bios to make the decision making process easier. In doing so, Biteline is estimated to eliminate up to 55% of the market waste.
Since 2016, Biteline has proven the concept with over 1,000 users in over 70 offices in Charleston, SC. It’s June 15 launch will address the Charlotte, NC market which touts over 7,000 dental professionals across 600 offices.
